In accordance with its 2016 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC has organised the Training Course on 'Outbound Tourism Statistics' at the State Statistical Committee (SSC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 23-24 November 2016.

The Training Course was conducted by Mr. Ayhan IŞIK, an Expert from Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) of the Republic of Turkey, with the participation of 3 officials of SSC.

As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009; http://goo.gl/olg3Tz); Tourism–covers statistics regarding visitor activity (such as arrivals/departures, overnight stays, expenditures, purpose of the visit, etc.) associated to different forms of tourism (inbound, domestic and outbound), tourism industries activity and infrastructure, employment and tourism satellite accounts.

The Training Course on 'Outbound Tourism Statistics' included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:

• Outbound tourism statistics in Turkey
• Outbound Tourism Statistics in Azerbaijan
• Citizen Introduction Survey
