SESRIC organised a Statistics Course on ‘Banking, Insurance and Financial Statistics’ on 26-28 November 2018 at the Department of Statistics (DOS) of Jordan within the framework of OIC Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme.

Ms. Najet Abid Ep Torjmane, Head of Service in charge of financial institutions (banking, insurance), financial statistics and financial transactions table at the National Institute of Statistics (INS) of Tunisia, conducted the course with the participation of 13 officials of the DOS of Jordan.

The Course included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:

• Financial Sector Accounts in the System of National Accounts (SNA)
• Calculation of production and income distribution for different branches of the financial sector
• Exercises on the calculation of the production of branches of the financial sector
• FISIM: The method of calculation and distribution
• Financial Accounts in the 2008 SNA
• Structuring the financial planning process
• Exercises on financial operations
