After the welcoming remarks of the representatives of SESRIC, UNESCWA, and UN-HABITAT, the Webinar started with the presentations delivered by the experts of UN-HABITAT concerning the SDG 11 and New Urban Agenda Framework including the relevant methodologies to measure the selected indicators as well as integration of geospatial data into urban monitoring and urban observatories models. Following the presentations of UN-HABITAT, SESRIC shared the results of the survey titled “Overview of Urban Monitoring Trends in OIC Countries from the Country Survey” that focused on the human settlements / population indicators to monitor and report on SDG 11. During the last session; UNESCWA, Malaysia, and Tunisia delivered presentations on their experiences concerning SDG 11 indicators and NUA. The Webinar was conducted through a video conferencing platform by following synchronous learning and instruction approaches designed in line with the virtual training solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s training activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this time of global crisis due to COVID-19.
