The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DoSM) officially launched an open data platform called OpenDOSM Next Gen on 12 Janaury 2023.

OpenDOSM Next Gen is a platform that catalogues, visualises, and analyses Malaysia’s wealth of data. The platform hosts open-sourced and freely available data for the usage and benefit of users. OpenDOSM Next Gen has 168 datasets available under 16 dashboards covering economy, national accounts, finance sector, demography and social statistics.

On the occasion of inauguration of the OpenDOSM Next Gen, H. E. Rafizi Ramli, Minister of Economy of Malaysia, emphasised that the portal is a huge improvement to current standards of data sharing in the country and hoping that this will encourage other agencies to be more transparent with the data dissemination.

On the other hand, Mr. Mohd Uzir, Chief Statistician, said the platform is in line with the DoSM efforts to innovate and encourage accurate dissemination of data for public use.
