SESRIC and the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to facilitate the collaboration and cooperation between both institutions within the framework of the project titled “Integration of Tobacco Questions for Surveys of Youth (TQS-Youth) into the National Surveys in Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member Countries”. The MoA was signed by H.E. Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, and H.E. Mr. Nurmahmadzoda JAMSHED, Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the implementation period, the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan will integrate TQS-Youth into its National Household Budget Survey. This effort aims to maintain consistency and comparability in monitoring tobacco use among youth globally and adapt to the evolving tobacco control landscape. The TQS-Youth initiative also enhances survey comparability over time and harmonises national surveys with international tobacco surveillance and monitoring activities focused on youth.
