Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on “SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) Indicators” with the participation of 35 experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and other relevant national institutions of 7 Arabic-speaking OIC countries through an online video conferencing platform.
Mr. Rami AL-DIBIS, Director of the Health Statistics Department from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), provided the training course.
The course covered the following topics:
-
Introduction to Goal 3 “Good health and well-being”
-
Targets of SDG 3 to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
-
Means of implementation for the targets (Goal 3)
-
Experience of Palestine in calculating and reporting SDG3 indicators
The StatCaB Programme was initiated in early 2007 as the flagship capacity development programme of SESRIC. Within the framework of the StatCaB Programme, the Centre collects information from the NSOs of OIC countries through the biennial StatCaB Questionnaire, assesses their statistical training needs and capacities, matches these needs and capacities, and organises statistical capacity development activities between the beneficiary and provider countries.
