SESRIC and the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the integration of Tobacco Questions for Surveys (TQS) into national household survey in Uzbekistan.

The MoA was signed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC and H.E. Mr. Behzod Hamraev, Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the margins of the Follow-up Meeting of the 14^th Session of the OIC-StatCom convened during the 57th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission in New York.

The agreement aims to strengthen the production of reliable and internationally comparable data on tobacco use by integrating TQS modules into Uzbekistan’s National Household Sample Survey. The cooperation also forms part of broader efforts to promote a tobacco-free OIC by strengthening national statistical capacities in monitoring tobacco consumption and its socio-economic impacts through harmonised survey methodologies.
