H.E. Mr. Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) announced that Saudi Arabia’s upcoming fifth housing and population census to commence on 9 May 2022.
H.E. Mr. Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim expressed that the census of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia conducted by GASTAT every ten years plays a vital role in the planning and policymaking required to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
H.E. Mr. Alibrahim encouraged all residents to participate in the census as part of their national duty and social responsibility, and to cooperate with enumerators in providing their data as accurately as possible.
H.E. Mr. Alibrahim also highlighted that this census will be conducted based on the international best practices used in G20 and OECD member countries. This will be the first census to make use of satellite imagery to ensure a more comprehensive coverage of the Kingdom’s regions and provinces that underwent incredible development since the last census in 2010.
