SESRIC participated in the OIC International Youth Forum on 27-28 June 2024, hosted by the Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Samarkand. The forum aimed to provide a platform for exchanging innovative ideas and engaging in meaningful discussions, fostering unity among youth from OIC countries in pursuit of common goals for peace, brotherhood, and progress.

The event was inaugurated with opening remarks from H.E. Mr. Alisher SADULLAEV, Director of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan; H.E. Amb. Tariq Ali BAKHEET, Assistant Secretary General of the OIC for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs; and H.E. Prof. Dr. Davorn MAKHSUDOV, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs.

During the forum, Mr. Seyid Tahir MAHMUD, Senior Statistics Officer at SESRIC, delivered a comprehensive briefing on “OIC's Policies and Programs for Youth Empowerment and Capacity Building”. He highlighted the current state of youth in OIC countries and emphasized the significance of the “OIC 2025 Programme of Action” and “OIC Youth Strategy” in fostering youth empowerment and capacity building at the intra-OIC level. He also briefed the participants about SESRIC’s ongoing activities related to youth empowerment and capacity building.

The meeting concluded with the adoption of a declaration advocating for peace, mutual respect, and understanding among young people across OIC countries.
