 As part of the 14th Session of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), a side event will be organized at the Headquarters of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) in Ankara on 3 October 2025.
The side event aims to showcase TurkStat’s long-standing contributions as a key provider of expertise, resources, and capacity to other National Statistical Offices (NSOs) in the OIC Member States. It will underline TurkStat’s important role in advancing the objectives of OIC-StatCom by sharing knowledge, methodologies, and institutional capacities across national, regional, and OIC levels.
The programme will feature an institutional presentation highlighting TurkStat’s experiences and contributions, along with technical presentations that demonstrate its engagement in strengthening statistical systems and fostering international cooperation. The event will also provide an opportunity for TurkStat to share practical experiences and good practices with other NSOs, particularly within the framework of the SESRIC Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme and other collaborative initiatives. Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are also planned to be signed with the relevant NSOs and regional organisations, further strengthening future cooperation.
In addition, the side event will allow for a roundtable discussion among participants and delegates, creating a platform to explore new avenues for collaboration and to reinforce the collective efforts of OIC Member States towards advancing official statistics.
