SESRIC participated in the 47th Session of the Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA), held on 2 March 2026 in New York, on the margins of the 57th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC). The meeting brought together representatives of international and supranational organizations to strengthen inter-agency coordination and cooperation in official statistics.

During the session, the Committee discussed and approved a set of joint statements to the Commission covering working methods (including AI readiness and the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics), open data/metadata and dissemination, social and demographic statistics, well-being measurement (Beyond GDP), lessons learned from SDG indicator monitoring, data governance, statistical capacity development, governance statistics, and integration of statistical and geospatial information.

SESRIC contributed to the deliberations by underlining the importance of statistical capacity development, strengthened data governance arrangements, and the responsible use of new technologies, including AI, in official statistics, particularly in support of national statistical systems in OIC Member Countries. The Centre reaffirmed its commitment to fostering collaboration with international partners to enhance statistical coordination and support the implementation of global statistical standards.
