Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC will organise a Statistical Training Course on “SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) Indicators” on 9–10 June 2026 through an online video conferencing platform, for the benefit of experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and other relevant constituents of the National Statistical Systems (NSSs) of the OIC Member Countries.

The training course will be organised in collaboration with the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) and delivered by competent experts from the Manpower and Social Statistics Division, Malaysian Bureau of Labour Statistics, and National Accounts Statistics Division of DOSM.

The main objective of the training course is to strengthen the technical capacities of the participants in the collection, compilation, processing, analysis and dissemination of SDG 9 indicators, while facilitating the sharing of Malaysia’s relevant country experience with the participating OIC Member Countries.

The training will cover the following topics:

• Statistical Framework and Implementation of SDGs in Malaysia
• Availability and Reporting of SDG 9 Indicators
• Monitoring SDG 9 in Malaysia: Current Status and Insights
